Description
Situated at the northern end of the Moon Mountain AVA, the Maus Vineyard benefits from a combination of Red Hill clay loam and volcanic soils, an exposed south-western slope, and the cooling effect from winds from Sonoma’s Coast. 40% Grenache (half of which was fermented whole cluster), 30% Syrah, and 30% Mourvedre. Harvested after a long and very cool ripening period, hand sorted fermented separately using only native yeasts. Full-bodied with rich black fruits, plum, & mocha and mellowed by 15 months on neutral French oak, this wine is rich and mouth-filling yet smooth and approachable.
