Fall 2024 Wine Club Release

Wine bottles and wine glasses outside with autumnal light and vineyards in the background.

As Summer turns to Fall, across the valley crews head out into the chilly, dark vineyards lit only with headlamps as we gather in this year’s bounty. Though tired and cold, we head out in the wee morning hours to pick fruit at it’s coolest, ensuring optimal freshness by the time we arrive at the winery. There, amid sorting tables and fermentation tanks already bubbling with this year’s harvest, alchemy turns humble grape juice into the nectar of the gods.

2024 marks a major milestone for Hamilton Family Wines; for the first time we will be producing over 1000 cases of wine and for the first time, from 100% organically grown fruit. We picked up a new, certified organic and biodynamic Sauvignon Blanc vineyard in Alexander Valley, a new organic Pinot Noir vineyard in Carneros with whom we will also be working on a future sparkling wine project, and we took over management of a new Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Sonoma Valley, farming it organically for the first time since it was planted about 20 years ago. “Are you going to jack up your prices now that you’re all organic?” you may ask. The answer is NO! Although it costs us more to farm, we’re doing it for the planet, for our kids, for the farm workers, and for you, our consumers. You deserve wines that are free from chemicals, additives, adjuncts, and all the other weird stuff we’re legally allowed to use but not (yet) required to list on the labels.
