About Hamilton Family Wines
Our Story
Lindsay and Greg first met in Glasgow, Scotland, where Greg was working as a wine merchant and Lindsay was visiting from California. They quickly discovered a shared love of wine, travel, and gathering around great meals.
After marrying and moving to California, they began making wine in 2011 in a tiny Berkeley garage, using borrowed equipment and learning by doing. What started as a passion project slowly grew into a dream.
In 2016 they moved to Sonoma Valley with the hope of building something lasting. Just a year later, the devastating 2017 Sonoma fires destroyed their home. Rather than stepping away, the experience deepened their commitment to the community and the region they had come to love.
That resilience ultimately shaped Hamilton Family Wines — a small, family-owned winery rooted in Sonoma and built around hospitality, connection, and wines meant to be shared.

Founder
My first real job was with a wine merchant back in Scotland, where I first fell in love with wine. After moving to California and working throughout Sonoma County, I eventually founded Hamilton Family Wines to create wines and experiences that feel thoughtful, personal, and welcoming.

My roots run deep in Sonoma County, and Hamilton Family Wines reflects so much of what I love most about this place: hospitality, beauty, gathering, and a true sense of home. I want every guest to feel welcomed, relaxed, and inspired to stay a little longer.

Jess brings a thoughtful, vineyard-driven approach to Hamilton’s wines. His work focuses on transparency, balance, and site expression, helping shape wines that feel vibrant, honest, and deeply connected to Sonoma.

Great wine begins with great fruit. Hamilton Family Wines partners with carefully selected vineyard sites across Sonoma County, including vineyards in Russian River Valley, Moon Mountain District, and Sonoma Valley.
Because each site tells its own story, Hamilton works with fruit from a range of vineyards that bring distinctive character, texture, and energy to each bottling. This allows the wines to reflect not just a style, but a true sense of place.
